Are you one of those families that gets together at least once a week in order to watch a movie? What’s the main reasons you have for wanting the whole family to be together for at least one day a week in order to take in a movie. Here are some of the reasons we’ve come up with. If you don’t have a family movie night at the moment, then hopefully these reasons will motivate you to begin one:
You want the family to spend quality time together without having to spend a lot of money or very little money to do so. In the old days you might have to go out to the movies and spend money in order to get in. You would have to pay for concession food which is extremely over priced and you’d have to give the kids money to play video games while they waited for the movie to start. Now you have things like Netflixs where you can watch virtually any movie you want. You can order a pizza or two and have a night in.
You want to build a strong, lasting bond with your kids before they get too cool for a movie night. This is going to happen at some point, where your kids will prefer to hang out with friends rather than sit at home watching a movie. This is why if their still young the best time is now in order to instill the tradition in them. Its something they’ll appreciate and do with their kids when they have them someday.
Now its not just enough to have a family movie night. You don’t want to watch anything that’s going to be inappropriate. You want family movies, this means movies the whole family can enjoy. Kids should be able to watch it as well as teenagers or adults. The thing is finding really good family movies can be tough and for a few reasons:
There are so many good family movies out there that you don’t know which ones to go with. Do you actually have the time to go to review sites looking at every movie you might want to watch? The process of finding the right family movie can be daunting. You want movies that are classics, entertaining, etc.
You don’t want the movies to focus too much of things that are super childish. Sure, having a family movie means it must appeal to kids, but all of them don’t have to be overly focused on this. There are many movies that have a little bit of everything in them. The “Harry Potter” series is a good example of this. Its the same with movies like “Shrek”.
Here a list of not just family movies, but some of the best ones of all time. You can get access to any one of these on movie services such as Netflixs. Check them out and plan a family night with one or more of them:
